Trump has no policy, not even a stance, on anything. He has adopted common GOP talking points, and magnified the voices of the far right solely for political gain. Now that he is in power, his corruption and depravity are on full display. I believe him to be mentally ill. The magnitude of his narcissism seems infinite. He really believes he won the 2020 election. So pardoning the Jan. 6th rioters was an obvious goal for day one. But after day one, Trump had no plan. Those around him did. Those who funded him did. World leaders did. Big Business did. Trump governs in a reactionary way. His political allies and others in his inner orbit manipulate him to adopt their views, and Trump then gleefully does their bidding. He’s a puppet. He’s being used. The poor fool thinks he’s in charge. In the sense that his word is law, that’s true, he is in charge. But he’s not making the decisions. He’s being persuaded and manipulated by many different interests, and NONE of them have any concern whatsoever about the state of the country or the welfare of its people.
Tearing down the East Wing? That’s the kind of thing that Trump comes up with on his own. Latin America Policy? That comes from Rubio. Our stance on Gaza? That’s Netanyahu. What should the US do about Ukraine? That’s up to Putin.
With Trump in power, doing what’s good for the American people is on nobody’s agenda.
